This year the Rogue Valley Prescribed Burn Association is collaborating with the OSU Extension and Oregon Department of Forestry on a variety of opportunities for hands-on learning, training and certification in the use of controlled burning and wildland firefighting skills.

For the first time in our region, the OSU Extension will be offering this course intended for individuals who already have experience with managing prescribed burns and would like to increase their knowledge and gain liability protection from the state. The Certified Burn Manager program provides formal training in the safe and effective management of prescribed fire. This Oregon Department of Forestry program provides limited civil liability protection when certified individuals follow program criteria. 

This is a three-day course: April 1-3, 9am-5pm.

$60 per person. Registration is required.
